Rotator Cuff Injury Or Tear Solutions

Rotator Cuff Injuries

How does this happen?

Rotator cuff muscles are responsible for stabilizing the shoulder during movement. If the shoulder joint becomes misaligned this causes uneven load on the muscles and can damage them. However just because you have pain doesn't always mean you have a tear. Muscles and tendons can sprain, strain, or tear, so it's not always the worse case scenario.  Some tears require surgery while others do not.

What can I do at home for a rotator cuff injury?

You can try icing the shoulder for 20 minutes a day and reducing or eliminating the aggravating activity for a few weeks.  Rehabilitation is not recommended until you are sure what type of injury you have, as exercising a significantly torn muscle can cause further damage.

How can I know what I have?

A chiropractor can diagnose the injury and get you on the quick path to recovery. Your chiropractor can through adjustments slowly realign the joint and guide you through the rehabilitation for your injury.  If your case does need surgery we will refer you accordingly.
