When visiting Spine Well for the first time, you will first need to fill out a few medical patient information forms to let us know more about you and your condition. Afterwards, you will meet with one of our doctors for a consultation to review your symptoms and discuss whether chiropractic is the right option for you. Should we decide to begin treatment, we will begin with a complete examination of your spine and any areas that may be the reason for your visit. In rare cases x-rays may need to be ordered. Once we have determined the root cause of your symptoms we will begin the chiropractic adjustments.
The reason your body may feel pain or discomfort is often due to misalignments of the spine or other joints in the body. These misalignments cause uneven wear on joints and put pressure on nerves, resulting in joint and nerve damage. These misalignments happen through accidents, injuries, or poor posture overtime.
It is the chiropractors job to fix these misalignments. Through manual adjustments which we do by hand as well as instruments, we realign the joints back to their proper position, removing the pain, nerve, and joint damage you may be feeling.
After the adjustment it is important to relax the muscles in order for the adjustment to hold longer. We do this by a combination of electrotherapy, which is a gentle current that numbs the muscle into relaxation, as well as a state-of-the-art mechanical Human Touch massage chair to further relax the body.
In some cases exercises and at home therapies or supplements will be recommended
The first visit takes about 1 hour with following visits being 30 minutes or less.
